Hi! It’s nice to be able to reach you again. Just some insights on “Personal Transformation”. Personal transformation begins in our heart, that is, in our mind. Romans 12:2 says “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
Our generation is information-saturated and most of the times, a lot of dirty information gain access to our minds through what we see, hear and think about. We have to renew our minds with the Word of God everyday, if we are going to survive as heaven-bound believers. The Word of Christ should dwell richly in our minds in all wisdom (Colossians 3:16, Psalms 119:11).
I had an ugly experience recently. I was in the office, trying to listen to music on my PC. I just clicked on the media library on the Windows Media Player and a pornographic material popped up on the screen. I was scared and I had to close it. Until that time, I never knew some pieces of pornographic films were stored on the system. I later had to delete them before they make God delete my name from the Book of Life. The devil has since then tried to attack me with what I had seen by trying to get me to replay those pictures in my mind. But I have murdered so many evil thoughts, using the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Also, I have had to resist the devil vehemently and God’s grace has been helping me overcome.
You know what? The devil has just two battlefields. 1. The heavenlies 2. The mind. Your mind is the devil’s battlefield! Once he conquers a man in his mind, the man becomes defeated in real life. Proverbs 4:23 tells us to “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life” and Proverbs 23:7a says “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he…” In the light of these scriptures, the devil can place evil thoughts in your minds, but you must reject them.
There is a connection between your eyes, ears and mind. Sam Adeyemi of Daystar Christian Centre puts it like this: whatever you hear or see consistently over a period of time enters your heart, and whatever enters your heart, has entered your life. From now, watch out for the kind of music you listen to, the programs you watch on TV. What you hear and see controls your life in a way. Why not think about your life at this moment? If you’re still in bondage to sin, I have good news for you. JESUS can give you the power to go and sin no more. In fact, you can have dominion over sin (Romans 6:14), if you’re ready to repent & forsake your sins. Personal transformation starts right here; when you give your life to Christ.
Repent, and be ye converted…Acts 3:19. God bless you!
