Just as I sat in the office today, an idea crept into my mind. Guess what? God wanted me to come up with what you’re reading now. I am not really surprised at this idea, because God has always made me realize that He sent me to study Mass Communication in UNILAG so I can be His channel of communication.
He spoke to me from Psalms 45: 1 “...my tongue is the pen of a ready writer”. This same verse also says “I speak of the things that I have made touching the king...” I have also observed that I love reading, writing, speaking (not talking) and motivating people. So you won’t be wrong if you call me a motivational writer, speaker...already God has been guiding me along the path of purpose.
Friend, let’s talk about purpose. So many youths today are moving and roving about without a sense of direction. So many youths today rush into relationships with a view to getting a life - partner, without paying attention to the purpose why God created them. One thing they don’t understand is that purpose comes before partner.
First, ask your Creator to help you understand your purpose in life. This initial step is very crucial. After this you can now look for a quiet place, where you can think without being distracted. Ask yourself questions such as “Why am I created? What do I want from life? What gifts of greatness has God given to me? How can I touch people’s lives positively with these gifts? Write down your answers to these posers on a sheet of paper, while you can go on interviewing yourself.
You may have to go down the memory lane. Try to recall your childhood experiences, the games you loved playing, your interests, your favourite TV programs, the positive and sincere comments people have made about you, your likes and dislikes and so on. Just put down whatever comes to your mind. Just as you keep thinking, fresh insights might creep into your mind. Be sensitive enough to recognize them when they come.
Get the message: God wants you to be purpose-driven youth. Don’t waste your youthful years on things that cannot add value to your life. You are very important to God. Find out His glorious purpose for your life.We shall talk more about purpose and other interesting issues in subsequent editions. I challenge you to seek God diligently and He will reward you with a clear revelation of His purpose for your life. (Hebrews 11:6, Jeremiah 1:5). Always remember, you are wonderfully and fearfully made to declare the glory of God on earth.
